For years, the word "natural" has appeared on packaging worldwide – without requirements, without control, without consequences. A single plant extract in a formula of synthetic substances has been enough. Consumers have believed it. And many companies have known it.

In 2024, the EU put a stop to this with a new directive prohibiting vague environmental claims such as "natural," "eco," and "environmentally friendly" without independent documentation. The rules will be implemented in national legislation throughout 2026 – but the standard is set. Words must now mean something.
