COSMOS-certified skincare: More than a promise in a bottle
Del
When you pamper your skin, there should be more behind the words than just beautiful packaging. But who actually checks that natural skincare delivers on its promises?
That is where COSMOS comes in.
COSMOS is an international standard for natural and organic cosmetics. Think of it as a common rulebook: It sets requirements for the origin of the ingredients, how they are processed, and how the product is manufactured. The packaging is also subject to these requirements.
Who issues the certification?
It is issued by an independent, approved certification body, such as Ecocert, which is an international certification organization based in France. COSMOS is therefore the set of rules, while the certification body checks that the requirements are met.
Why does a product receive the label?
Because it has been assessed to meet the requirements of the standard. It is not enough to add a little plant oil and call the product natural.
COSMOS NATURAL means that the product meets the requirements for natural cosmetics. COSMOS ORGANIC also sets requirements for the proportion of organic ingredients. However, organic does not mean that the entire content is 100% organic.
What does that mean for you?
You get a concrete point of reference when choosing skincare: Not just a promise from the manufacturer, but a certification based on common requirements with independent control.
So you can enjoy your skincare routine with more knowledge about what you choose.
